Champions League predictions: Bayern vs. PSG, Sporting vs. Arsenal, Man
City vs. Feyenoord, and more
With major teams like Bayern Munich, Manchester
City, and Barcelona fighting for a spot in the knockout stages, Matchday 5 of
the UEFA Champions League includes a number of pivotal games.
As the "new" UEFA Champions League moves
into its second half, Matchday 5 looks to be a crucial day for the league. Only
the top eight teams will guarantee a direct place in the round of 16, but 24
out of 36 clubs will make it to the knockout stages.
Tuesday's schedule includes nine games, many of
which are must-win games for major clubs. In a rematch of the 2020 final,
Bayern Munich takes on Paris Saint-Germain, and both teams are eager to win.
After winning six straight games, Bayern Munich appears to be in better form,
but PSG is having trouble in Europe even though they are winning at home.
Manchester City wants to beat Feyenoord to snap
their five-game losing streak, but the Dutch team will put up a fierce fight
and has played well away from home.
In Brest, FC Barcelona will be a surprise package because, despite their
struggles in league play, the Ligue 1 team has performed well in Europe.
Arsenal takes on a Sporting CP team that has had a
manager change in an attempt to build on their Premier League victory over
Nottingham Forest. Sporting defeated Taca de Portugal 6-0 and is now in a
dangerous position after defeating Manchester City in Ruben Amorim's last game
as manager.
Atletico Madrid visits the Czech capital to play
Sparta Prague, while AC Milan looks to maintain their European momentum against
a pointless Slovan Bratislava.
Against RB Leipzig, who have dropped four straight games, Inter hopes to keep
their clean sheet record in Europe intact.
