JOINT-HIGHEST TOTAL IN WOMEN'S ODIS
India took a commanding 2-1 lead in
the three-match series after defeating the West Indies by 115 runs in the
second ODI in Vadodara. They broke the following records en route.
In women's ODIs, 358 for 5 is India's second-highest total, tied with their 358
for 2 victory over Ireland in Potchefstroom in 2017. In women's ODIs, it is
also the highest total against the West Indies.
3. Instances of India posting 300 or
more in 2024, which is the highest number they have ever posted in a single
year. Having scored 314 for 9 in the opening ODI of the current series, it is
also the first time that India has scored 300 or more runs in back-to-back
games.
India hit 47 boundaries in their
innings, the most in an ODI (43 fours and four sixes).
2-This is only the second time in an ODI that four Indian batsmen have scored
more than fifty. Additionally, it was the third time that any of their top
three had scores of 50 or higher.
2021: Since Punam Raut's 104 not out against South Africa in Lucknow in 2021,
Harleen Deol's 115 was the first time an Indian No. 3 had scored a century.
2. After Harmanpreet Kaur, Deol became the second Indian
woman to reach a hundred in less than 100 balls. It took her 98 balls to reach
the milestone.
3. The third Indian duo to have consecutive century partnerships in One-Day
Internationals was Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal. The others are Karuna
Jain and Jaya, two in 2005, and Anju Jain and Jaya Sharma, three consecutive in
2003 and 2004.
2. Deol became the second Indian woman to reach a hundred in
fewer than 100 balls, after Harmanpreet Kaur. She reached the milestone in 98
balls.
3. Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal became the third Indian team to have
consecutive century partnerships in One-Day Internationals. The other two are
Anju Jain and Jaya Sharma, who were together three times in 2003 and 2004, and
Karuna Jain and Jaya, who were together twice in 2005.
743 - In 2024, Mandhana surpassed
Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa to become the top run scorer in women's ODIs.
India will play one more ODI before the year ends, and Mandhana's current total
of 743 is her highest in a calendar year.
