Australia and Scotland will play the opening match of the second edition of the ICC Women U-19 World Cup today at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval stadium in Malaysia. This year, 16 teams will compete in the Women's U19 World Cup, which is played in a 20-over format in contrast to the ICC Men's event.
For the 16-day competition, teams have been split into four groups: England, New Zealand, and Australia are in Groups B, C, and D, respectively, while hosts Malaysia and India are in the same group.

Group A: India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, West Indies

Group B: England, Ireland, Pakistan, United States

Group C: New Zealand, Nigeria, Samoa, South Africa

Group D: Australia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Scotland

Before the top three teams from each group advance to the Super Six League stage, which will take place from January 25 to 29, all teams in the same group will have the opportunity to play one another. Teams from Group A will play two other Group A teams in this stage, while teams from Group B will play Group C teams.

Interestingly, these teams' group stage points will be carried over to the Super Six stage.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which will take place on January 31, and the winners will advance to the finals on January 2, following the conclusion of the Super Six stage.
